Extra Info:
Hello. My name is Elgar. Im about 9 months old and a proud Collie Cross boy. Im currently staying in Chessington but am looking for my ever home.
I was found stray by local dog wardens when I was about 6 months old and taken to the local pound where I was put on the to-be-destroyed-list. Luckily, I was taken in by a lovely bunch of people who paid for me to stay in kennels in the hope of finding a home for me.
Im currently living with two dogs who I adore even though I get growled at a bit and a very bossy two legged creature who says 'NO' an awwwwwful lot!
All the changes in my life have unsettled me (well thats what the bossy two legged one says) but I would love to find my forever home and family. I think Im going to need a very patient person to love and care for me but I promise to give them lots of cuddles and kisses.
I know it sounds a little strange but I like to know what the rules are and what I can and cannot do. Im not allowed on furniture here or up stairs or into the kitchen unless I am invited (which isnt very often and even though the door is open I very rarely try and sneak through!).
I do get a little nervous when Im out and about and tend to woof a bit on walks when Im not sure what something is or if I see a new person. Although Im trying reeeeaaaallllyyyyy hard not to - it can all get a bit much for me and the people Im with sometimes. I hope someone will help me work on that. I dont really want to be nervous of things and I do love dogs, people and kids if they are nice to me. I even met a cat that I really quite liked. She did stick her claws in my nose though which was a bit of a shock but later the same day she let me curl up near her and didnt whack her again which I really appreciated!
I have lots of energy to burn off outside (heh – I am a pup you know!) but can be quite calm inside unless someone plays with me and then I am a total narna (!) and I like my food so recall is coming on a dream.
They say that someone will have to ‘work’ with me which sounds a little scary – but I hear there are lots of treats involved! Someone said something about jumping over little fences for treats – I think Id be really good at that. I know its cheeky to say but Im as bright as a button (blush) and would love to learn pretty much anything you can teach me. I think I would be realllllllly bored otherwise.
I'm being rehomed through Rescue Remedies (www.rescueremedies.co.uk) and Ive been told they are very very fussy indeed about where I might end up. Which is a good thing I think. Theres lots of my friends too on there who also have come from bad situations and just need a whole lot of love.
If you think you could totally adore me (its not hard you know!) and could offer me a secure loving home please fill in a form on the website or if you know someone that you think could love me please let them know Im here. (Oh – but please only send my information to sensible people I don’t want to end up with a bigger nanar than myself!).
Thank you everyone for listening to my life story. Ive only lived a tiny bit of it so far and I would so love to have a wonderful one.
Elgar
