Interview with...
Mary Salmond @ Walkies |
What
services do you offer? |
Walkies
offers dog walking, home boarding and daily pet visits to provide care for
cats and other small animals in their own homes. |
If
you do pet sitting in your house, is your garden secure? |
Yes. The garden is large and is surrounded by a 6 foot high
wall. |
If
you do dog walking or dog sitting, how long are your walks
with the dogs normally?
|
Walks
are normally 45 mins in addition to pick up and drop off time. |
How
many animals do you take into your house?
|
For
home boarding we take only dogs from the same family at any
one time. Maximum number depends on size of dog but normally
2. For dog walking groups are normally 2-3 in size although
we specify a maximum 4 dogs at any one time... |
Do
you offer any activities for the pets in your care? For
example Kong toys, search exercises, etc |
A
range of standard doggy toys are available both at home for
dogs boarding with us and on walks... |
How
many pets do you have yourself and what are they? |
We
have a 3 year old black labrador called Molly and a 15 year
old cat, Buster. |
What
are your hobbies? |
Spending
time with my children and walking. |
Is
there anything that you would always recommend others to
try? |
I
would say don't be afraid to take a risk and do something
different just make sure you think it through. Change is good. |
Do
you have dreams for the future? |
Walkies
is a relatively new venture and my immediate goal is to build
the business to be successful and to expand the services we
provide. I hope in the future to become a qualified dog trainer
and to be able to offer help to owners whose pets have behavioral
problems. |
