Interview with...
Lisa Suswain @ Wagging Tails |
What
services do you offer? |
Wagging Tails offers home from home dog boarding, an alternative to kennels or imposing on friends or family while you are on holiday, moving house or otherwise engaged. We only board one families dogs at one time giving your best friend the undivided love and attention s/he deserves! |
If
you do pet sitting in your house, is your garden secure? |
Our garden is fully secure and checked regularly. In addition to this we carry out inspections of our carers gardens to ensure high security is maintained. |
If
you do dog walking or dog sitting, how long are your
walks with the dogs normally?
|
We will follow the routine the owners would follow with their dogs on a daily basis. We have some dogs staying who only need a 30 minute stroll morning and night and then we have high energy working dogs who will happily keep going for miles. We are happy to provide the correct type and duration of exercise for each individual dog. |
How
many animals do you take into your house?
|
We only board one families dogs at one time. Many of our owners have turned to us because their dog finds kennels stressful or lacking in individual attention. Dogs that are spending their holidays with us get our undivided attention. |
Do
you offer any activities for the pets in your care? For
example Kong toys, search exercises, etc |
We have lots of toys in all different shapes, sizes and smells to suit all dogs. We will play the games we know your dog enjoys and others to keep his mind and body stimulated. |
How
many pets do you have yourself and what are they? |
We have no pets of our own, which is why we are able to offer this service.
I grew up with cocker spaniels around as my family breed and show them. |
What
are your hobbies? |
I used to be a professional ballet dancer so ballet is still a passion of mine, however most days you will find me out in the countryside walking our holiday guests and keeping fit that way! |
Is
there anything that you would always recommend others
to try? |
Take the time to learn about dog psychology and behaviourism. It will make such a difference to the way you look and interact with dogs. As you can see from the photo Bailey (one of my parents dogs) is certainly a very chilled out, content cocker spaniel! |
Do
you have dreams for the future? |
I was very fortunate to be able to do something I loved when I became a
ballet dancer and now I have the chance to do the same with dogs! My dream for the future would be to continue to increase the areas we cover with Wagging Tails, recruit more dog loving carers and have lots of happy dogs enjoying their holidays with us! After all we all get a holiday so why shouldn't our dogs!!!
