Interview with...
Chris Pattinson @ Happytails |
What
services do you offer? |
Dog/Cat
Sitting. Dog and Small Animal Boarding. Dog
Walking. I am Local Authority registered and fully
insured. |
If
you do pet sitting in your house, is your garden secure? |
I
have a secure back garden and the dogs are never left out
on their own. |
Which
animals will you care for?
|
Depending
on the age of the dog they have up to 4 walks per day. In
between they are out in the garden most of the day but this
obviously depends on the weather. |
How
many animals do you take into your house?
|
I
take up to 2 dogs into my home. When I do a dog walking service
I walk the dog individually so that I can concentrate on
the dog and give him/her all my attention. |
Do
you offer any activities for the pets in your care? For
example Kong toys, search exercises, etc |
I
always speak to the owner and encourage them to bring with
the dog any toys they play with at home. To me this is very
important and helps the dog settle in with us easier. |
How
many pets do you have yourself and what are they? |
I
have one dog called Bobby and a cat called Smudgie. Smudgie
tends to live upstairs when we have doggie visitors. |
What
are your hobbies? |
I
love all creatures both great and small. Love walking, swimming,
reading and travelling abroad (when I get time). |
Is
there anything that you would always recommend others
to try? |
Always
meet the clients and their doggies before taking any booking.
This helps the doggie settle in easier when it returns for
his/her holiday. |
Do
you have dreams for the future? |
My
dreams for the future would be to permanently have a smile
on my face and the dogs to all have Happytails. |

Chris has been coming to my home and looking after my 3 cats
for over a year now. Its so reasurring that someone
is going into my home to feed the cats and sit with them
whilst I am away. The cats now know Chris as she spends
time not only feeding them but also talking to them and giving
them all a brush. I have complete peace of mind and
could not do without her. Penny Mansen with Porsche,

I spent weeks worrying about where to put my little daschund
Jessica when my first holiday abroad was approaching. I took
a chance ringing a local number advertised in a shop as I
did not want to put Jessica into kennels. It turned out to
be the best decision I had made. After meeting Chris and
her husband Alan , Jessica stayed for 2 weeks, I could see
how well my dog was when I returned and how much she had
enjoyed her holiday. Now I would not take my dog anywhere
else, in fact, I would cancel if Chris could not take Jessica
in. Chris has become a good, trustworthy friend and Jessica
loves her and her dog. Laura Smith Hemsworth

Choosing to have a pet is a big decision but, I think to
have to leave them with someone while you go away is a bigger
one. I have a very affectionate Llasa Apso called Alfie,
so leaving him behind was a big worry. I then met Chris and
Alan her husband. Since leaving Alfie with them all that
worry has been taken away, I know when we go on holiday Alfie
is on holiday too. He is given as much love and affection
(if not more) than he would if he was at home. It's a pleasure
to see him race up the drive straight into the room and normally
on the sofa (sorry Chris and Alan) he doesn't give me a second
glance. We go away happy and return to a very happy little
chap. Chris makes owning a pet easier and so much more enjoyable.

My basset hound, Woody, has stayed with Chris on several occasions
now & I know I can leave him with complete confidence. I
know he will enjoy his holiday as much as i will enjoy mine.
He trots into her house, tail wagging & doesnt give me
a backward glance! It really is home from home & each
dog is treat as an individual with their special needs catered
for. Thank you, Chris, for your wonderful care--I dont know
what I would do without you!!! Kath, Ian, Tim, Patrick
& Woody
