Jackie Booty @ Dog Days Dog Walking & Boarding Service
|
What
services do you offer? |
We offer a wide range of Dog related services including Dog Walking, Boarding and Day Care. However, we do encourage our customers to think of Dog Days as their "Dog PA" and we can provide a very tailored service for most clients needs. We also offer a small pet sitting and cat sitting service based on visiting clients houses when they are away. We can feed, water, change bedding and socialise with pets and we have looked after a wide range of animals - from Parrots to Hamsters. For safety and security we don't turn up in branded vans. |
If
you do dog sitting in your house, is your garden secure? |
Our team of pet sitters is growing rapidly. Currently we have fourteen people spread accross central berkshire and north surrey and about half of these provide boarding services. All our boarders gardens are checked and all our dog boarders are either dog owners themslves or have been in the past and often have worked with animals (paid or voluntary) in the past. We like to limit our boarders to no more than two boarding assignments at any one time and we also encourage our clients to meet their boarder before their boarding period if they wish. |
If
you do dog walking or dog sitting, how long are your
walks with the dogs normally? |
Our standard social walk is 50 minutes and we also offer a puppy walk at 30 minutes. However, in the case of a "full walk" involving four dogs, the time from first pickup to last dropoff is around two and a half hours. Depending on the running order, a client's dog could be in social company for up to a maximum of two and a half hours. |
How
many dogs do you take into your house or on your walks? |
As already mentioned, social walks are in groups of no more than four dogs. We find that this is a comfortable maximum for safety and control. As mentioned above, as a general rule, we like to keep our boarding guests down to a maximum of "two per house" in high season. This can often be "one per house" in low season or if the boarder has a preference. |
Do
you offer any activities for the pets in your care?
For example Kong toys, search exercises, etc |
Its a bit like "eurocamp", in that the facilities on offer will differ depending on the boarding family. This is why we encourage our clients to meet with their boarders. Houses and gardens vary in size, location differ, and our boarding families vary in size also. We can cater for a variety of needs, including homes with no other dogs and homes with no children. We tend to recommend the best fit for the dog and its needs. However, in all cases, the common factor is fun. All our boarding families love dogs and a good family time including walking, playtime, good food and rest is assured. |
How
many pets do you have yourself and what are they? |
We have a Whippet called Dino. We call him the founding member of Dog Days and its our interest in him and love of him that started the whole business off. We also have rabbits and chichlids (a type of tropical fish). |
What
are your hobbies? |
This question made me smile. We used to be normal people with normal jobs, but now we work 24/7 running the business. We don't mind though because its a passion, it doesn't feel like work. |
Is
there anything that you would always recommend others
to try? |
Don't do this alone! I work with my husband and together we have the skills to make a pet services company work. I wouldn't like to be doing this alone. |
Do
you have dreams for the future? |
We love what we do and our dream is to keep doing it. We don't have a limit to our ambitions for Dog Days though. Provided we can keep our level of service high, we will keep expanding, but its important not to look too far ahead, we are big believers in taking things one day at a time. |

Jackie has been walking my Border Collie daily for the last nine months. The setup arrangements with Jackie were first class. She was very thorough and business like in taking the details of his requirements and ensuring that all health & safety points were covered. The daily walks always take place on time and Jackie is meticulous in ensuring that different, enjoyable and tiring walks take place. My dog has also frequently stayed overnight in Jackie's care and this has been an exceptional arrangement as he participates in family life rather than being lodged in a kennel. Jackie is totally reliable and the welfare of the dogs is her key consideration. She is extremely kind, caring and very easy to get on with. It is evident from Skips reaction when he sees Jackie, just what a wonderful time he enjoys when out with her and other dogs. I would recommend Jackie very highly and without reservation.
